The month began with a September 13 blood donation drive with JONEG Foundation Inc., headed by PP Jojo Negapatan. Twenty-one donors came forward, resulting in 12 successful donations, including PE Red Dela Torre, with Rtn. Cleo Tayag and Rtn. Jie Javillo was also in attendance.

From September 22 to 26, SFDM continued its signature vision screening and refraction service. At San Francisco Elementary School, more than 100 learners were screened, with 99 identified as beneficiaries. At Hatid Kalinga, Mula sa Puso, SFDM served 40+ individuals from a mixed population through refraction services. The District 3780 partnership, led by DG Rhyan Virrey with Helping Youth Transcend Foundation, Inc., chaired by PP Heddy Yu Tabao, also provided free legal aid through PP Atty. Boyet Tabao, supported by District Secretary Atty. Jon Peter Ferrer and Deputy District Secretary Atty. Gloria Calvario. The eye-care team included Rtn. Dra. Yasmin Meribeles, Rtn. Dra. Annee Escleto, Rtn. Gem Gamas, Rtn. Junn Sta. Maria, RACMA TLP Pres. Bon Drio, and Rtr. Maritoni Escober.

Then came September 23—a celebration of what happens when knowledge becomes service.

Ten automotive trainers from Don Bosco Technical and Vocational Educational Training Center graduated from the Phil-Korea Vocational Training Team, following specialized training at Honam Vocational School in Gwangju, South Korea, through Rotary Foundation Global Grant #2691823.

Representing SFDM were Legacy President Jet Legaspi, SPS Ricca Legaspi, and IPP Perry Dominguez, with D3780 IPDG Veronica Yu and PDG Gina Sy of D3820. PDG Rufino “Penny” Policarpio III and PP Joan Policarpio also joined the Korea journey.

The partnership brought together Honam Vocational School, Don Bosco, and international Rotary partners to equip these ten trainers with knowledge that can ultimately reach thousands of Filipino students.

And that is the heart of lasting impact: service that does not end with the people we touch today, but continues through the lives they will touch tomorrow.
